Helping moms raise confident girls

MEET OUR FOUNDER
Hi, I’m Holly, a mom of three girls and the founder of Girls 101!
Many years ago, while raising my girls, I dreamed of creating something special. I wanted a safe, fun, faith-filled space where girls could talk about life, grow in confidence, and grow in their character and purpose. With the help of a few dear friends, that dream became a reality. What started as an idea in our local school community grew into Girls 101, a program that has now been walking alongside girls for more than 20 years.
Having raised three daughters (and having lived through those teenage years!) I know firsthand how challenging it can be to raise girls in today's world. Yet I also know girls can thrive when they have the right support. After many years of knowing girls, I’ve learned so much by hearing their stories, watching them grow, and seeing the world through their eyes.
From research and study to simply listening to girls share their hearts, I’ve learned that no matter where they come from, girls share many of the same struggles and deep desires. They want to belong, be understood, and live with purpose.

Over the years, I've watched girls discover who they are and grow into who they're meant to be. In a world that can leave girls questioning their worth, their abilities, and their purpose, we want to remind them of what is true. I want girls to learn how to live well, make wise choices, recognize their gifts, and experience the kind of friendships that remind them they are never alone.
The more I learned about what girls were facing in my own community, the more I knew I had to do something, even if it was small, to bring light and hope to the next generation. Girls 101 is my contribution- one piece of the puzzle, helping girls feel seen, supported, and safe as they grow up.
Over the years, our gatherings have taken place in homes on Friday nights, in after-school programs, and at church youth meetings. Wherever we meet, something special happens. Girls feel seen, friendships grow, and hearts are changed. When girls are given a safe place to grow, they don’t just survive. They flourish.

It’s been one of the greatest joys of my life to watch girls grow not just in confidence, but in kindness, strength, and character. Seeing their eyes light up with understanding, hearing their laughter fill a room, and watching them encourage one another reminds me why this work matters so deeply. For me, when girls are given a place to belong, surrounded by women who listen, guide, and love them through every season, they can begin to understand who God created them to be.
My prayer is that Girls 101 continues to inspire more communities to gather around their girls, offering them the safety, love, and encouragement they need to grow in confidence, character, and faith.
Because while I set out to help girls grow, I've learned that they have helped me grow, too.
